Editor's Note: This is part 1 of a mini-series on the 2025 EAAMO Conference.
Part 2 | Part 3
On November 6th and 7th, I had the pleasure of attending the EAAMO Conference that took place on The University of Pittsburgh campus. To start, let me introduce myself. My name is Katie Voigt and I am a senior marketing student at the College of Business and student worker for the Responsible Data Science Department (RDS). I was asked to attend day 2 and 3 of this conference with the hope of absorbing as much information about Equity and Access in Algorithms, Mechanisms, and Optimization.

Day 2: Research Group Discussion
This session took place on November 6th from 7-9pm and was a hub for asking questions regarding the different breakout groups that had formed and conversed earlier in the day. Although I couldn’t attend the earlier session due to a class meeting at the same time, I was able to join the Research Group.

In this breakout group we discussed and made an action plan on how we can strengthen the core value of trust within the research community. We took the time to review all of the comments made by all of the conference attendants from earlier in the day, and took the key ideas gathered from those notes. The result of this sifting through comments was the sticky note diagram above. It was a pleasure to meet and to get to know my group!
